Lebanon was submerged in deep sorrow at the demise of their most influential Shia Muslim leader Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah. He dies in Beirut at the age of 75.

According to hospital sources the Shia Muslim leader was admitted at the hospital as he was suffering from internal bleeding. He died on Sunday, and his death is considered as a major loss for the Islamic world. Thousands of followers gathered outside the mosque located in the Beirut Suburb of Haret Hreik.

There were many followers who wept uncontrollably as they carried banners to express the great loss. Hezbollah’s television station, Al Manar also started broadcasting Quaranic verses and prayers so that his soul rests in peace.

The Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri expressed his feelings at the great loss by referring to the great Shia leader as a voice of Moderation and an Advocate of Unity.

According g to Ali al Adeeb, who is a senior member of the Dawa party Fadlallah’s death has been a major loss and it would be hard to replace him. He had attained the status of “Marja” which is described a s a source of emulation.

This is the highest level of authority among the Shia Clerics. Last year he had written letter to Barack Obama, condemning US policies for contributing to the loss of the Palestinian Cause.

According to a study conducted by the International Youth Charity, children who have been living in the poorest parts of the west bank face significantly worse conditions than those living in Gaza.

It is important to bring to light plight of the poor children living in west bank as it is under direct control in Israel and it refuses to improve the condition in the area.

Save the Children UK a report that is due to be published on Wednesday the families living in the west bank are suffering from never ending poverty, as there is a lack of food and nutrition, medicines for the ailing and any other kind of humanitarian assistance.

This is an area that is mostly under the Israeli control and it is also the poorest section of the society.

The people are suffering due to lack of basic infrastructure as it is being repaired and Israel refuses to comply with aid. There are no schools, homes or drainage systems in the area and it also lacks a road transport system.

It is very urgent to repair these facilities, but instead for being allowed to work on the facilities, the people are forced to live I tents and they do not have access to clean water.

Turkey expresses anger by closing the Turkish airspace for some Israeli military flights. The Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made the statement from Toronto while he was attending the G8 Summit. The issue has been fueled by the Israeli raid on an aid ship in Gaza Strip that killed nine activists who were of Turkish origin.

The incident occurred on the 31st of May, thus instigating new rules where the Military planes would be required to seek over flight permission before entering the Turkish airspace. Immediately after the ban was imposed, one military plane that tried to fly overboard was denied permission by the Turkish Officials.

According to the Turkish Government, it is not a blanket ban and each case would be assessed individually. However, all commercial flight would operate normally and will remain unaffected by the ban.

The Israel Newspapers purported stories in order to defend their stance in the accusations. According to Yediot Ahronot, the raid was an action of self defense after the troops were attacked by the activists.

Since the three week war on the Gaza Strip, Turkey has been restraining all ties with Israel. It has withdrawn the ambassador from Israel and canceled coalition in military operations since the attacks. Israel has accepted two investigators from the international council for making inquiries into the recent raids on Freedom Flotilla .

Looks like nuclear talks with Iran will be delayed as Mahmud Ahmadinejad , the president of Iran has postponed it till late August.

According to Ahmadinejad, more countries should also be involved in the peace talks and the n negotiating partners must be changed, as he suspects the authenticity of their intentions. He wants to know if they support Israel’s right to nuclear weapons.

The president of Iran would also like to know what is the negotiators opinion of the nuclear bombs of the Zionist regime. He wants to make sure whether the negotiators come for peace talk or for war.

He also wants them to declare what they are seeking through talks with Iran on Iran nuclear issue. Although he did not name any countries that should be involved in the negotiations, but he expressed criticism on the new round of economic sanctions that were declared against Iran in this month.

He said that Iran is responding to the new sanctions by delaying nuclear talks. But PJ Crowley who is the US State Department Spokesman states Iran should not delay the nuclear talks and the sooner the better.

John Large who is a Nuclear consultant states that the delay could lead to misunderstanding in the western government, but Tehran insists that the Nuclear weapons are not meant to harm anybody.

Israel continues to take the center stage in world politics, religion and news headlines. Yet again Israel has made it to the headlines, as two Israeli air raids led to the death of two Palestinians as was stated by the Associated Press News Agency.

But the Israeli Spokesperson has a different story to say as according to them they air raids were targeted at two smuggling tunnels that are located on the Rafah border that is flanked by Egypt. The target also included a weapons storage facility that they suspected was located on the northern Gaza border.

He also added that the raids were in retaliation to mortar shells that came from Gaza and were aimed at the Israeli civilians. But even as blood stained Gaza is trying to come to terms with the loss of life due to Israeli air raids, the Israeli foreign minister is making plans to invite delegation of European ministers to the Gaza Strip.

Franco Frattini has given a response stating that he would accept the invitation after discussions with his European and international partners. It is undeniable that the place and it’s people are characterized by a strategic, turbulent and tragic history.

Hams Shalit an Israeli soldier being held in Gaza strip is demanding the release of 1000 Palestinian prisoners from Shalit and Israel has declined the offer.

The strong statments came from the nations in the G8 leaders summit that was held in Canada. Israel was quite unexpecting this response in this summit meeting.

The meeting was held on Huntsville in Canada, where talks went on for two days about the global security concern starting from the latest Gaza blockade to Afghanistan to Iran’s nuclear progamme.

All the nations urged Israel to immediately lift the blockade and allow aid to reach the palestinian population on humanitarian grounds.

The issue of Economic crisis was also discussed, warning that the recovery is very fragile.

It is agreed upon by most of the officials that the resolution of 1929 is down watered due to the Russian and Chinese efforts that it will hardly affect Iran. Iran has already spent more than 30 years under such sanctions and it hardly affected any of its crucial sectors.

This new round of sanctions come just days ahead of the anniversary of presidential elections and just couple of weeks after the landmark deal of fuel swapping between Brazil, Iran and Turkey.

Some important points raised by many are that why did the United States reject the fuel swap offer by Iran and how can such useless UN sanctions on Iran be any step towards the right direction.
