Police Chief known for ‘Gender Equality’ is convicted of Rape and Sex crimes

According to local reports of Stockholm, a former police chief of Sweden who was well known for his moderate lectures on ‘sex harassment’‘ and gender equality’ has been convicted of several rape and sex harassment crimes on Friday.

Goran Lindberg, 64, responsible of ‘’ sadistic sexual violence ‘’ for brutally tying his female victim to a bed and raped her. This was a shocking incidence for the Nordic country.

The Court of Sodertom district convicted Goran Lindberg of more than a dozen sexual offenses, as well as annoyed rape and buying sexual favors. He is sentenced for a term of 6.5 years in prison and is ordered to pay a sum of 300,000 SEK (aprox. $ 41,000) in indemnity to three of the victims.

The former commissioner of police has refused all charges except for few charges related to buying sex. Goran was a police chief in the Uppsala city of Sweden since 1997 till 2006.As a police commissioner, he visited around several different cities of Sweden and lectured on gender equality to different organizations and companies .He was also popular in past ,when he headed Swedish national police academy. Various Swedish ministers have expressed shock over the case; one of them was a Swedish Justice Minister, Beatrice.
