Myanmar has brushed off the allegations that it is developing a Nuclear weapons programme calling the allegations as “Baseless and politically manipulated”.
Such allegations has been raised by the certain rebel groups to defame the Myanmar government and to stop the democratic growth of the country, said the foreign minister in the press conference.
Earlier last week, the DVB (Democratic Voice of Burma) which Norway based and is run by the exiles of Myanmar said in the media that the military is preparing resources to begin nuclear weapons development programme. They claimed that aid and help is arriving from North Korea and that the Myanmar military is getting ready to start such a programme in order to produce long range missiles and bombs.
They based their claim on a 5 year research done, which was prepared in the form of a documentary and the information received from the recent Myanmar Army defector.
The US Senator, Jim Webb, delayed his visit to Myanmar in the light of these recent allegations.
