Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder scored a 2-1 victory over Slovakia and Netherlands easily cruised into the quarter finals of the World Cup. It was Robbens quick shot at the net from a twenty yard distance and Sneijder doubled Netherlands chances of entering the quarterfinal round as he found an empty net at the 84th minute.
The Slovakian goalkeeper put a strong front but some of the players from Netherlands turned the tables as they made a run fro the winning goal. The credit also goes to the Netherlands goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg who made sure his country won the match by saving two strategic goals in the last few minutes of the match.
With this win he has added yet another feather to his record of unbeaten streak in 23 games. Although Robert vittek had a golden opportunity with a penalty kick and also scored but it was an unlucky day for the Slovakian players.
All fans have high hopes with Netherlands as it is a team to look out for as it combats with Brazil or Chile. Brazil has won over five championship titles, but Netherlands has been full of surprises this season.
The quarterfinals will witness the combat of the best of the best and Netherlands could clinches the world cup and create history.
