London – The London based independent research agency named Skytrax declared the global survey results where about 18 million air passengers from 100 different countries voted the Indian based Kingfisher Airlines owned by Indian industrialist Vijaya Mallya, the best Indian airlines, and the Finnair as the best in North Europe.

The survey was carried out during the period July 2009 and April 2010, and Vijaya Mallya’s Kingfisher was honored with three accolades for best airline in India and Central Asia, best economy class seats and excellent staff service.

“The Kingfisher airlines is one of the six airways in the world that meet the high quality criteria for the top tier 5-Star airline ranking, and it is also the ability of the airways to deliver the combination of the quality product and quality service”, according to Edward Plaisted, the CEO of Skytrax.

The various honors given to other airline bodies include Cathay Pacific as the best transpacific airline, Oneworld as the best interline pact, Qantas for the best premium economy class, and Dragonair as the best regional carrier, while Nordic carrier has been awarded the status of a “4-star” airline for its overall service and performance.

The Finnair Vice President, Christer Haglund, expressed deep gratitude to the company’s customers while valuing their feedback and promising to perform much better in future. The Finnair airline is a founder member of Oneworld, while Kingfisher is yet to join it soon as it has already signed a deal in February with Oneworld for membership.
