India’s Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh is the first Indian prime minister to visit the Kingdom since 1982. Both the countries have signed a treaty after having talks about improving ties between the two countries in capital city of Riyadh.

The talks which took place on Monday in the City of Riyadh between King Abdullah and Manmohan Singh was mainly about strengthening energy partnership. Manmohan also discussed regional security in Middle East, talking to the Saudi officials, he said Palestine should be made independent state, and that is the only key to maintain stability in that region.

Singh also said to the Shura Council that India is trying extra effort to improve peace relationship with their neighboring country Pakistan.

“If Pakistan co-operates with India, there is no problem that we cannot solve and we can walk the extra mile to open a new chapter in relations between our two countries,” Singh said.

India broke off peace talks with Pakistan after Mumbia attack in 2008, which killed many people, India accuses Pakistan behind the attack. The two countries had peace talks last week after a long time but still a formal peace process has yet to be resumed.

The main discussion was how India and Saudi Arabia will work together to counter terrorism, which is a common concern for both the countries.
