The commissioner of the Indian Premier League, Lalit Modi, on Tuesday confirmed and assured the fans that all 8 teams will be participating in the third season of the IPL and any news which says about a team not participating should be ignored.
He said on his Twitter page that ‘Reports that DC will not play or x y z may not — please ignore such news. All IPL teams will participate. You have my assurance on that’
This assurance came a day after Deccan Chargers board sent a legal notice to the IPL and threatened to boycott the league if their home matches were shifted from Hyderabad.
Later yesterday, the IPL Governing council approved 2 matches to be played in the Chargers’ catchment area of Cuttack and also promised to hold a few matches later if Hyderabad was declared safe as a venue by the Intelligence authorities.
