A massive landslide in Indonesia

A landslide in Indonesia has left five people dead and more than 70 people missing when a office building collapsed. There were tea plantations in the area of land slide.

On Tuesday, morning in the southern region of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia a city in the Bandung region was hit by a landslide.

The Bandung health minster, Ahmad Kustiadi told the media “Five people have been found dead and 72 are missing, 47 in the field, 15 in the office and 10 at the factory,”.

The main reason behind the landslide in this area was rapid deforestation and frequent rain which caused rain water accumulation with in the fields and land.

Since last week, there was continuous rain water collection in the Bandung and surrounding areas, the neighboring areas were evacuated due to heavy rain fall.

During this time of season when there is heavy rain falls, landslides are quite common in these areas.
