In a shocking incident that took place in Kashmir, 10 day old infant was killed by a mob of stone pelters when he was being carried by his parents to a hospital. The infant, Irfan, was ill and was being rushed to the hospital for a regular treatment when suddenly a mob attacked their vehicle.
The parents were beaten up while their 3 year old son was hit on head. The infant was also hit and pushed towards the window. Blood started oozing out of the infants nose as he was rushed to the nearby hospital and he was pronounced “brought dead” by the hospital.
This incident took place amidst the government’s crackdown on the stone pelters in Kashmir.
The dead infant’s father reported that some people came in Tata sumo and were pelting stones. They got into their vehicle and hit the infant which was in his mothers lap. This was a death blow for the little infant immediately after which he died.
Murder case has been registered against those who committed this crime. However, police are yet to identify the culprits.
Omar Abdullah, the Jammu and Kashmir chief Minister said that this incident is a result of increased support of the opposition to these stone pelters.
Unfortunately, as the political blame game will continue for ever, this family’s loss can never be compensated.
This is absolutely horrible! If only these people can learn to resolve their issues peacefully or at least without murdering innocents… I am talking about these people who commit this crime by the way, not a generalization of race.
I look forward to the day when this kind of needless violence is far behind us.
