In the City of northern Lebanon, military men fired on a bus carrying Syrian labourers.One person has been killed and several others were badly injured. The person killed was a 17 year old Syrian labourer, one of the thousands who do construction work in Lebanon.

Reports say that the Bus was carrying around twenty five people, many of them were Syrian workers.This incident took place near the city of Tripoli ,along the highway that leads to Syria.

One of the reporters who visited the site said that bus’s windows on drivers side were hit badly by bullets.Many workers siting inside the bus were mainly hurt because of the shattered glasses that struck them.

Attack denounced

This incident has been condemned by Ahmed Eid,the mayor of Deir Ammar.

Denouncing the Incident,he said that this incident occurred the next day after the Lebanese Prime Minister ended his short visit to Damascos.

Eid said “This could be an isolated incident but there are some who will try to take political advantage from it,”

Couple of months after the assassination of al-Hariri, Syria has moved its troops out of the country under regional pressure.Prior to that, Syria had been the main power-broker in Lebanon until April 2005.
