Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Sangakkara played a decent knock of 60 and Tharanga made a superb 118 to post a modest score of 315 runs for Sri Lanka.

However, Gambhir made an undefeated 150 and kohli made 107 (maiden century) to help India reach the target.
