A Bomb bla
st rocked Pakistan’s capital on Monday, killing 25 people and injuring many. The bomb blast took place when the Shia Muslims in the southern part of Karachi were taking processing to mark Ashura, the holiest festivals of the Shias and this day has a great significance in the Shia Muslim Calender.
Several people were injured in this bomb blast, approximately 50 people were injured and many are in critical condition.
Abdul Wahid Khan, a senior police officer said “We are trying to ascertain whether it was a time bomb or a suicide attack, but it is a terrorist attack,”.
There was lot of smoke from the site and ambulances were called from all places to rescue those injured. People were angry at the attack and try to damage the surrounding vehicles and public property.
Some reports have come that dozens of vehicles were set ablaze and a building was burned by the protesters.

Although, the Shai community are in minority in Pakistan and they are integral part of the country but they may have been attacked because of their beliefs.
Rehman Malik, Pakistan’s interior minister told the people to stay away from taking Shia processions for another two days and told people to cooperate and restrain from any gatherings.
