Tehran’s supporting words has impressed Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and he said that he is impressed and he ‘appreciates’ the support by turkey’s prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkey’s prime minister said that the Western Nation’s were hypocrites and that they criticized Iran’s Uranium program and kept silent on Israel’s issue.
Turkey’s prime minister arrived on Tuesday to talk about the program but ranted on western countries saying they kept silent over Israel whose Armory is off the charts. According to the sources Ahmadinejad responded to Tayyip
“When an illicit regime possesses nuclear arms, one can not talk about depriving other nations from the peaceful nuclear program .
Your clear stance towards the Zionist regime had a positive effect in the world, especially the Islamic world, and I am sure that everyone was satisfied”.
Mr.Tayyip said to the journalists who traveled with him to Iran that Westerners might think that Iran is building weapons but in reality it “is an energy project with peaceful, humanitarian purposes”. He continued “If their positive attitude is answered with a positive attitude, this will bring forward the process in the positive direction”.
Britain’s guardian newspaper reported his interview in which the Turkish prime minister blamed Western nations for unfairly treating Iran and called Ahmedinejad his ‘friend’. Israel and turkey’s relationship has been damaged since the war on Gaza which was described as unfair and savage. Israel was even banned from its air exercise by turkey for its attacks on Palestine.
Ahmedinejad said that there are no boundaries for friendship between Turkey and Iran and its cooperation is limitless. Tayyip has brought around 200 members for delegation which comprises of ministers, members of parliament and business leaders. Turkey’s energy minister Taner Yildiz said that the two powerful neighbors will work on Gas projects and will be working at Iran’s southern part for extraction and would sell it to the European countries.
Mr.Taner said “Turkish Petroleum will be exploring in the South Pars Field … The work will have started by the first or second week of November”.
Mr.Tayyip said “I believe that sooner or later, the project will understand the importance of Iran’s participation”. The trade between Iran and turkey has been calculated up to $12 billion a year and now they want to extend it to $20 billion a year.
During his visit Mr.Tayyip is also going to meet Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Ali Larijani, the parliamentary speaker.
