20091030TalibsTehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) has disassociated themselves from the deadly Peshawar bomb blast which killed many civilians. They said that their “main targets are the security forces, and not innocent civilians”.

A statement was sent to the media on Thursday in which they condemned the car bomb attack which killed more than 100 people. They denied any such involvement and said their attacks are for the security forces only.

But Pakistani government believes that the attack was a revenge for the Pakistani army’s offense in the region of waziristan. He said that the campaign would not stop at any cost.

This attack was one of the deadliest attacks this year in which more than 200 people were injured. The majority killed were women and children in that blast, mourning residents were seen burying the dead.

sources said that the Pakistan’s situation will get more grimmer and that it would take many years before the things are set right. The former head of Pakistan’s Inter Service Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant-General Asad Durrani said “American help in our efforts of counter- insurgency are very unhelpful because this alliance is a very unpopular one. The public are not in favor of America and Pakistan co-ordinating…”

He continued “The most dangerous category of groups are the so-called rogue elements, their agenda is neither Afghanistan-oriented nor Pakistan. They carry out certain acts and atrocities which makes the situation even more complex, But I can tell you, as our foreign minister said, we’ll not buckle down. We fight them and we’ll destroy them.”

A Pakistani senator Tariq Azeem Khan, reported to Al-Jazeera that Taliban was doing this in a reckless way. He said “When they cannot get to the main targets because they are well guarded, they are doing these explosions all over the place – in the main shopping centers without any pre-determined targets”.

“There’s very little the government can do to try to protect every single shopping mall. It’s a difficult task, but they are doing their best. Pakistan is paying a very high price at the moment”.
