The Global body that is investigating the war crimes in Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza said on Tuesday that they have evidences to show that both sides have committed war crimes during the conflict.

“Israel committed actions amounting to war crimes, possibly crimes against humanity, during its December 27-January 18 military operations against Palestinian rocket squads in the Gaza Strip” The report said. It continues that “there is also evidence that Palestinian armed groups committed war crimes, as well as possibly crimes against humanity, by firing rockets at cities in southern Israel”. The report describes clear examples of Israeli war crimes such as Israel’s attacks in the Samouni neighborhood of Zeitoun, south of Gaza City, including the shelling of a house where soldiers had forced Palestinian civilians to assemble and “direct and intentional attack” on the Al Quds Hospital and an adjacent ambulance depot in Gaza City.

Report further explains seven incidents of shooting civilians by Israeli army while leaving their homes trying to run for safety, waving white flags and sometimes even following Israeli instructions. It also adds the attack on a mosque during prayer times killing 15 people.

The UN investigation team was lead by former South African judge Richard Goldstone and the 577 page report was released on Tuesday and will be submitted to the UN Human Rights Council later this month.

Meanwhile, Israel rejected the report’s conclusion which had already refused to cooperate with the investigation. “The mandate of the mission and the resolution establishing it prejudged the outcome of any investigation, gave legitimacy to the Hamas terrorist organization and disregarded the deliberate Hamas strategy of using Palestinian civilians as cover for launching terrorist attacks,” Said Israeli Foreign Ministry in a statement.

The Truth is simply out but is rejected on the face of it.
