Mohan Bhagwat, who recently became the chief of the RSS, today told that everyone residing in the India who believed in the welfare of all was a “Hindu” irrespective of their religions and suggested that the welfare of all should be considered.

“Hindu is not the name of community. It is a way of life. Each one who resides in Bharat, the greater Bharat before partition is a Hindu and should be proud of his or her identity. We are Hindu by nature and culture,” Mohan Bhagwat, who is the sixth chief of the RSS said addressing his felicitation ceremony in New Delhi.

Giving the examples of former president A P J Abdul Kalam and pioneer of milk co-operative movement Varghese Kurien, He said that everyone residing in the country who believed in the welfare of all was a “Hindu”.

Bhagwat also added that without respecting peoples aspirations, no leader, policy or rule can be complete. No Neta (leader), Niti (policy), Raj (rule)… can be complete without respect for people’s aspiration. The aspiration of people of this country, who are Hindus irrespective of the religion they belong … is the welfare of humanity,” He said.

He pointed out that there were ups and downs in the Organizations history by tracing the graph of the 83 year old organization. “RSS has seen worst days “for the last 50 to 60 years” and also underwent a period when everyone showered praises and tried to associate with it,” he told referring to the BJP-led NDA rule that lasted for six year.
