iftikar_chaudary_justicePML-N chief Navas Sharif called off the long march after the decision has come from Pakistan prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani that all the judges will be reinstated , including Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary who were removed by former president Pervez Musharraf during the emergency in 2008.

Navas Sharif who was leading the march in Gujrawala thanked Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari for such a decision. “I hope after this, we’ll implement the charter of democracy and true democracy in Pakistan. We’ll make the judiciary stronger and parliament supreme,” Sharif told to his supporters. “We have got the fruit of our two-year struggle. Now the destiny of this country will change. This development will lead to a revolution in Pakistan,” He added

“The Pakistan government has decided to reinstate the judges, including Iftikhar Chaudhary. The decision was taken in consultation with President Zardari,” said Gilani in an address to the nation on Monday. He also ordered all political party activists and lawyers arrested over the past week to be released.

As the nation celebrated, Gilani said, “We will ask court to lift charges against the Sharif brothers and I invite Nawaz Sharif to work together on charter of democracy.”

The announcement came after a late night meeting between Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari to resolve the political crisis raised by a confrontation between the ruling PPP and opposition PML-N.The meeting was in the wake of Navas Sharif defying house arrest and started leading the long march to Islamabad. Tens of thousands of people joined in, perhaps making President Zardari to reconsider the decision.
