Raj Thackeray, the MNS head, got exemption from appearing in the Vikhroli metropolitan magistrate court after a plea was filed by his lawyer for the same.

The plea was filed by his lawyer, Sameer Nagre, in which he pleaded that since Raj had got bail just yesterday, he would not be able to appear before court today.

The court, headed by Magistrate sunil Gaidhani, had asked the MNS chief to appear before it today. However, since he could not appear today, a notice has been issued to him to explain why his bail should not be rejecteed as he had broken the bail conditions.

Nagre said that they would reply to the notice that was issued in Feb this year for making derogatory statements against north Indians by November 7th.
