The recent blasts in Malegaon, Maharashtra, in which about 5 people were dead is being believed to be triggered by Extremist Hindu Groups. This claim made by the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad, popularly known as ATS, sparked political war of words between various individuals.

On one hand where BJP says that no Hindu group could be involved in such activity, the congress on other hand is asking for immediate investigation into it.

This breakthrough came about when a motorcycle which was used in blast was traced to an owner in surat who has Hindutva links. He belonged to a main Hindutva group based in Indore, which is a fringe of the original Hindutva extremist group. This could be an attempt to delink the blast from mainstream Hindu extremists groups.

ATS also adds that this group might also be the same people behind the Modasa blast in Gujurat which took place the same day. ATS is careful in revealing the people taken into custody for almost 3 weeks. Due to security reasons, not even the state government knew about it.

Strong denial came from BJP who claim that Hindu groups cannot be behind bomb making. Gopinath Munde, the general Secretary of BJP said that Hindu groups cannot be a part of such blasts.

All the other parties including left point out that this catch proves the involvement of Hindu Extremists groups in such activities. Many have even demanded to reveal the identity of such groups and ban them.

This incident and previous such incidents in which a hand of Hindu group has been involved, only raises mysterious questions that “Are more and newer groups rising up to spread terrorism?”.
