Communal Clashes broke out in AP’s Adilabad district, 3 dead

Adding up to the previous incidents, Communal violence broke out in Andhra Pradesh’s Adilabad district on Friday afternoon during the “Shobha Yatra” procession movement. 3 people died and 15 were left injured in this clash in the Bhainsa Town of Adilabad district.

Many shops were set afire including 20 shops and 10 vehicles by the mob. The incident occured when the idols of durga were taken in a procession for immersion in Gaddennavagu reservoir.

It looked that this was just the reason and an oppurtunity seized by many to unleash their terror. The riot became a free for all battlefield causing heavy losses.

As usual, Police remained a mute spectator to this incident and could only fire few rounds in air to disperse the mob. A sub inspector and a constable also were injured in the stone pelting. one of the 3 dead was identified to be a painte who lived in the area for the past 4 years. His name was Bhutan who was from Bihar.

Local residents blamed Police for not taking adequate measure at the time of incident. One of the resident said “Police could have easily stopped this from happening, but it appeared they were ordered to let it happen”.

The clash saw violent mob on a stabbing spree and torching motorcycles in the market. Shops were closed due to holiday being observed on the day of incident on the occasion of Dashera feastival.
