A strong criticism arose when the Senior Congress leader proposed the new Anti Terrorism bill. The First to denounce it was Home Minister Shivraj Patil who said that the present laws are perfectly in accordance with the situation. He also added that with every incident, New laws cannot be made to tackle a situation scenario.
The report was submitted by Veerapa Moily in which he stated that “A comprehensive and effective legal framework to deal with all aspects of terrorism needs to be enacted” in his report on dealing with terrorism.
The 185 page document was released during a press conference held in New Delhi here on this morning. Veerappa Moily, who is the commissions chariman, suggested that the present laws are not “strict” enough to tackle the arising situation of Terrorism.
In his report he also stated that clear definition of what criminal act can be hooked under Terrorist act should be laid down. The report also recommends the setup of fast track courts in order to deal with cases related to terrorism.
with every incident arising new ideas and efforts to curb Terrorism, its ironic to see that none of these politicians seem to go to the root cause of such terrorism which is still unknown. Questions are not asked nor surveys are done to find out the real root cause of terrorism. Only biased hypothesis and personal interests are over ruling the true procedure of tackling the situation.
