Morgan Stanley struggling to find an Investor

With the Stock and money market performing shockingly disappointing, the number 2 positioned US investment Bank, Morgan Stanley is topping the list of all the “big fish” firms who are presently looking for a buyer. These banks are desparately looking for a buyer to pull them out of the big financial crisis.

Morgan Stanley have even approached chinese sovereign wealth fund china investment corporation in order to give push to their firm. Last year the same had invested about $5 billion.

Though most of the Giant corporates are looking forward to bid for Morgan stanley, HSBC was speculated to be one of them. However, sources from within the Honkong and Shanghai Bank is not interested in it. Hopes are high and proposals would be taken to HSBC too.

Goldman Sachs group incorporation, which is one of the largest independent surviving wall street investment bank, are into more trouble and are desparately onlook for a big fish investor. Their short terms investements put them into this trouble where deposit base of a commercial bank would be more stable alternative.

Today in early trading, the Morgan Stanley stakes were down by 8%. News came in that Wachovia is in talks with Morgan Stanley for a merger. The Wachovia shares saw a huge rise of 16% in morning trade.
