Yet in another violent attack on a religious prayer house, some persons attacked a Hanuman Temple and damaged the idol of Hanuman, who is a sacred God of Hindus. 
The temple gate was also attempted to burn down while another group tried to set another shrine on fire. This is incident took place in Orissa’s Sundergarh district just few weeks after the communal tension that had arose in the Kandhamal district. Security has been beefed up in and around the district where this incident took place.
A group of unidentified persons set the template gate on fire while damaging the idol and other things in the temple premises in the Saghbhal area.
Previous an attempt was made to set another shrine on fire at Balishankar, just about two weeks ago. During the end of last month, Orissa saw communal violence increasing after the death of VHP leader. Hindu Terrorist had burned down several Christian Churches and also burnt alive a young woman.
Police say that this incident of attack on Hanuman temple could be a retaliation from the other community. But no evidence has been established to prove it.
State Government have started taking extreme steps to ensure security in the state. Besides security forces, several peace committees have come toghether to deal with this situation of chaos.
