A series of disappointing news seems to pour out of Bengal with Tata preparing to pull out of Singur.
The criticism to the government’s policies over the land acquisition came out when the governor, Gopal krishna Gandhi, the key mediator in singur project openly made statements to the media.
A CBI enquiry has been demanded by Mamata Banerjee to check on the money being misused out of the compensation funds provided to the farmers.
Gandhi stated “We will have to think carefully of locating industrial ventures, not turning to arable land before exhausting other options. Empirical evidence has shown that options other than compulsory land acquisition are also possible”
Mamata Banerjee claims that though funds are given from DM’s office, they are used for various purpose like advertising etc thus leaving nothing for the real beneficiaries. This fight goes on as Tata is all set to announce on a particular date that it would exit its project from singur.
Most probably the date would be after the weekend.
