Delhi was rocked by 5 blasts that ripped through the busy streets of India’s Capital city today. Although the bombs were of low intensity, they left 30 killed and 90 injured. In span of 25 minutes, explosions ripped through Connaught Place, , Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash-I and Barakhamba Road. It is also reported that Four more bombs were defused at Regal Cinema, India Gate, and Central Park were defused.

At around 6:10 pm, the first explosion took place at Gaffar market area of karol Bagh by an expolosive kept in a car parked nearby. The explosion was so powerful that an auto was thrown several feet away. The second blast took place in Connaught place area by bombs kept in dustbins. After this, blasts took place in central park, and near Gopal das tower.

Greater kailash-1 was then rocked by two blasts at the posh M-Block market. This blast took place at 6: 40 pm in which about 10 shops got damaged.

As used in previous terror attacks, Ammonium nitrate clubed with integrated circuit was used in these attacks, along with a timer to trigger the blasts.

According to the police, a 12 year old boy might have seen the people involved in this attack. Government announced a compensation of 1 lakh for the families of dead. Delhi government also announced a compensation amount of 5 lakhs to the families of killed and 50,000 to the families of injured.

Prime minister appealed people to be calm and fight this time of tragedy with courage. Union Minister Shivraj Patil also expressed his condolesense to the families of desceased.

The strange thing about this attack is that the responsible group is claiming the act through an email which looks very “fishy”. Its interesting to note that some security forces are first to point fingers towards some Jihadi groups without giving a slighest thought that just few days back, Bajrang Dal was caught making bombs and preparing for some terror attack. With top level brains working day and night behind this countries security, its unbelievable to see how they could miss this point! Why is it that it is always some group claiming to be Muslims who are responsible and not any extremist Hindu group who are openly preparing for terror attacks?
