Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf had been asked to resign, from the office by the army within a weeks time.The Army General Ashfaq Kiyani has already whispered in Musharraf’s ear, that it is time to leave. “The Army is neutral but is expecting him to resign. It will then influence his honorable safe passage as the Army’s senior leadership would not want him to be punished,” a former military official of the President told.The ruling coalition is likely, to bring forward an impeachment motion against him in the national parliament According to a Pakistani daily news agency: The Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has finally decided to resign soon, after Pakistan Independence Day on 14 August in Islamabad. Most probably, the president is going to address the nation before resigning.
The impeachment motion against Musharraf will be submitted, in the parliament next week says the Pakistan ruling coalition. A resolution has been forwarded by two of the four provincial assemblies, directing Musharraf to seek a vote of confidence in parliament.
When all the four provincial assemblies will pass resolutions demanding the president to seek vote of confidence, the impeachment motion will be directed to the national assembly.
