A Spanish airliner, which took off from Madrid’s Barajas airport, bound for canary Islands met with an accident when it crashed to pieces, killing nearly 153 people, on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero canceled his vacation trip to southern Spain and reached Madrid, going straight for the airport on hearing this news.
“My sorrow and condolences are with the families of those killed in this accident” he said to the reporters.
The plane had not even become airborne when it crashed down to pieces, said the development minister earlier today. About 19 people miraculously survived, however some out of them are in very serious condition. Investigators ruled out any problems with the plane that was known to people before the flight and said that they recovered the black box flight data recorders, from which they learnt that initially while taking off, pilot reported problems with the Gauge that measures the temperature outside the plane.
however the Gauge was repaired which caused the delaying of departure. When the plane took of the second time, it crashed down. 20 out of all were children and two were small babies. Spain air’s website has the list of causalities and their details for those who are seeking it.
