Northwestern Chinese Province of Xinjiang rocked on Sunday with two explosions that left 2 dead and several others injured. The casualties are expected to rise in this blasts that took place between 3: 20 AM and 4 AM (local time), Xinhua the state media reported.The standing witnesses heard gun shots immediately after the explosion and also saw flashes of fire flying across the sky. Xinjing had suffered another attack just about two days prior to the start of Beijing Olympics. The security has been tightened up and local military sources confirmed this blasts.
People were immediately evacuated from the area of explosion. Kuqa, which is around 740 kms from the regional capital of Urumqi, has a huge population of around 4 lakh and is a very common tourist destination.
Earlier this week, two militants smashed a truck into the Chinese border guards and threw grenades which killed nearly 16 and injuring around 16, in the tourist city of Kashgar.
