The earthquake prone country, China, is again in news. This time its a quake that measured 6.1 on Richter scale that nearly shook a very large part of southwestern china’s province on Tuesday. The large area of Sichuan was taken by surprise during the pleasant time of evening.

The epicenter of this quake was at the border of Sichuan’s Qingchuan county and many of the provinces of Gansu. It took place at 5:49 PM, which is late evening time. This epicenter was closer to the epicenter of the disastrous May 12 earth quake which took the lives of 70,000 people in one go.

The effect of this shake was also felt in the capital of Chengdu, when one of the Olympic touch relay was held, few hours earlier. As of now there are no reported casualties. Another smaller earth quake in the similar area left 2 dead and 345 injured on August 1st.
