Bangalore, one of the IT hubs of India, rocked with multiple blasts leaving 2 killed and several injured. At least 8 serial bomb blasts ripped through the crowded locations of Bangalore, from the famous Brigade Road to Hosur Road. The first blast happened at around 1: 30 pm, in the afternoon. These crude bombs, though of low intensity, were placed primarily near refugee settlements and were triggered by timers. As sources reported, these blasts occured within the times span of just 12 minutes, leaving two dead, including a woman and several badly injured.He announced compensation and relief of Rs one lakh for the family of the deceased woman, and said the government would bear the medical expenses of those injured. Shankar Bidari, the city police commissioner, urged the people to go on with their daily chores without any fear. However, as the information on blasts spread, nearly all major malls, schools were shut down. Panicked people caused heavy traffic jams while speeding for their homes.
The Union Ministry in Delhi said that they had warned Karnataka of this attack well in advance. Home minister Shivraj patil condemned the incident and said that government would strictly deal with these anti social elements.
It is reported and police is confirming to the fact that this time it is not any Islamist group claiming the attack. It is believed that it could be the work of opposition parties in toppling the newly formed UPA government. Questions were hurled over opposition leader L K advani, whose statements were found very fishy.
