The Sardar did it again! coming out as a winner, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh won a vote of confidence in Lok Sabha with a very comfortable margin, giving a blow to his opposition who were dumbstruck with the outcome.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister expressed his confidence of the parliament in the council of Ministers, carrying 275 whopping votes in favor as against 256 in opposition. Right from the early week, Opposition was confident that Mr. Manmohan Singh would come out a loser in proving his majority.

In the house with 541 strong candidates, It was not clear how many had abstained from voting. Until 2 pm, 4 members had abstained from voting. After correcting the figure shown initially, the result was finally announced after a delay of one hour. The incorrect figures showed 253 in favor, 232 against and 2 abstenience in a total of 487.

BJP members were shouting down on Prime ministers speech asking for his immediate resignation. Mr. Singh gave his reply to the much heated debate of the house. As opposition put pressure for a division, speaker somnath chatterjee immediately demanded for voting by electronic voting machine.

Earlier this month, the left parties who had been supporting the Prime Minister since May 2004, withdrew their support suddenly over the Indo-US nuclear deal. The debate that went on for two days was quite heated up, but it took a twist when BJP members shocked the house by showing packs of currency notes alleging that samajwadi party had bribed them.

Few members were allowed to vote from inner house due to their ill health. Some of the members were also admitted to hospital. Unfortunately, our country is run by people who are half into their graves.

Well alls well that ends well, Prime Minister was the one who had the last laugh!
